Mark Stevenson, Managing Director of Evolve Lending & Finance, was profiled in Parra News in a feature that traced the story of a central-west kid who built a billion-dollar broking career and chose Parramatta as the home for the next chapter.

Mark grew up on 25 acres near O’Connell and Black Springs in rural New South Wales, where the values instilled by his father, a management accountant who loved working with down-to-earth people, and his stepfather, a farmer who ran a bull broking business in Oberon, shaped the way he would eventually approach business. A great business studies teacher at school added to the mix, and by the time he entered the finance industry those foundations had become his professional identity.

He became a mortgage broker in 2011 with Mortgage Choice before eventually finding his way to Bell Partners Finance, where his career accelerated rapidly. The Bell Partners years gave him access to a level of clientele that spanned everything from celebrities and high-net-worth individuals to everyday families buying their first home, and he credits that breadth of experience with deepening both his expertise and his conviction that every client deserves exactly the same standard of service regardless of the size of the transaction. He hit the billion-dollar-broker milestone around three to four years before the interview, a marker he reflects on with characteristic understatement.

When the opportunity came to step out again under his own identity, Mark moved the business from the CBD to 3 Parramatta Square, drawn by the energy of Sydney’s second city and its proximity to the clients he most wants to serve.
