Mark Stevenson of Bell Partners Finance (now Evolve Lending & Finance) was named in Mortgage Professional Australia’s Top 100 Brokers list for 2021, placing 95th nationally in a record-breaking year for the broking industry.

The 2021 list reflected an extraordinary period of activity across the Australian home loan market. With interest rates at historic lows and government incentives driving first home buyer demand, the total value of loans written by the Top 100 surpassed all previous years by around $4 billion. To appear on the list at all, brokers needed to have written more than $98 million in loans over the financial year, a threshold that had risen significantly from the prior year.

The year had not been without its challenges. Brokers had adapted rapidly to remote working environments during the pandemic, shifting to digital client communication and virtual processes while managing an unprecedented surge in refinancing and purchase activity. Regulatory demands continued to grow alongside the increase in business volume, with compliance and documentation consuming a greater share of brokers’ time than in previous years.

Being named in this national list reflects the consistent volume and quality of work delivered by Mark Stevenson and the Bell Partners Finance team throughout the year. It is a recognition of sustained performance across residential lending at a time when the market was more competitive and complex than it had been in years.
